For more than 40 years Rediger Auction Service has been providing full service, professional auctions of ALL types in Central Illinois.
Three Generations of Auctioneers
The Rediger family’s auction business has a long history. In 1940, Judy’s Uncle, Lawrence Van Hyfte, started Van Hyfte Auction Service. In 1948, John (Judy’s father) partnered with his brother and Van Hyfte Auction Service soon became a household name in Henry County and the surrounding area. In the late 1970’s Jim, John’s son, joined in the business following Lawrence’s unexpected death. Judy began working along with her father and brother in the early 80’s carrying on the family tradition. As the 90’s approached John was considering retirement. Rick Rediger of Buda had opened Rediger Auction Service in 1980. Rick was asked by the Van Hyfte’s to work with them on their Auctions. In later year’s Rick and Judy married combining families. With the passing of Jim and the retirement of John, Van Hyfte Auction Service was laid to rest with Rediger Auction Service picking up the slack.
Rick and Judy’s sons, Jeremy Rediger and Jonathan Moon are licensed Auctioneer’s completing the Rediger Team. Rick and Judy are licensed Real Estate Brokers, making Rediger Auction Service a leader in local farmland and machinery auctions.
